A large engineering firm was having difficulty meeting constantly changing workforce demands. Its client, a large international food manufacturer, required assistance in the design, programming, start-up and fabrication of automation control systems.
How CSI solved the client's problem:
Control System Integrators started the relationship by providing outsourced engineering services. Our client quickly recognized the value CSI brought to the project. In addition to completing turn-key projects, CSI also began supplying engineers directly to them in order to augment its internal staff. As their requirements grew, CSI's TechTeam continued to meet all the demands. Our client's relationship with its customer presented a mix of opportunities and challenges. Because many projects started and ended during the course of a year, a flexible workforce was essential. Its customer employed state-of-the-art equipment requiring highly skilled technical engineers with expertise in the latest PLCs. The projects were demanding and needed engineers who were willing to do whatever was necessary to get the project done right, on time and within budget.
CSI's TechTeam recruited personnel eager to work for fixed periods of time. What started as a controls outsourcing relationship quickly grew to the point where CSI supplied all types of technical personnel including controls, CAD, packaging and process engineers as well as project and program managers. Our client together with CSI, created a flexible workforce without incurring large overhead expenditures usually associated with such ventures.
